This is going to be a fun filled afternoon with fantastic auction items up for bid.

To name a few... Handquilted quilts, salon services and products, gift baskets, homemade goodies, handyman services, carpet and so much more!

We chose the title "Begin The Healing" because this is the point when Sjon will be done with his treatments and can begin rebuilding. We are going to celebrate this new part of his journey.

There will be music by Colton and some of his band members a talent show, speakers and refreshments. Donation at the door is $5.00 and items will be on display for silent bid as well as a live auction.
This is going to be a wonderful day of thanks and love and we hope you will join us on this day!

Interferon treatments started

Update from Sjon...

Wow just finished my first day of interferon injection and wow am I sick and I get to do this for a month.  I'd like to say bring it on but for today I'm saying just get me through this day and then I'll take on tomorrow!! The good news is it's assisting me to where I choose to go and that is a healthy life with all my great friends and family and my awesome wife who is by my side 100% I love you all with all my heart.

5k Pictures and latest GOOD NEWS update

First of all we want to THANK EVERYONE that helped make the 5k such a success!  It was a wonderful day so full of love and support.  The only count we have is that we served around 200 lunches.  That is amazing!  The total amount raised was $4664.50 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
If we started with naming names this would go on forever.  You know who you are and you know that we love you and appreciate every single thing you have done to help with the fundraisers for Army For Sjon because of all of YOU so many lives are blessed.

NOW ONTO REALLY GOOD NEWS....
Sjon's last Dr. appointment went very well.  The surgeon said that at this time Sjon is N.E.D. what that means is there is No Evidence of Disease.  He feels that with all of the surgeries they have gotten everything at this time.  He told Sjon that he feels like chemo and radiation may not be needed at this time and they could just monitor him but it comes down to what the Oncologist has to say on Oct. 1st.  This is very good news!  It does not means he is cancer free but it means he is doing incredibly well and really this is nothing short of a miracle!  We will keep you posted and thank you all for your positive energy and prayers they are working!

WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!

Great news update! No more cancer in the brain. We got the results today, now just onward and upward! Thank you to all of my great friends and fam. for all your love and support. With angels like you in my corner there is no miracle to great. I love being in partnership with you all on this great mother earth!!!! XOXOXO

Yeah - finally got a little good news today Sjon's MRI of his brain showed no new growths :):) Just taking it one day at a time. I love you Sjon!

5k Directions and Schedule

We are getting excited and it looks like there is going to be a great turnout this coming saturday!!!!

Directions to the Dr. Roi O. Hardy park in Riverton for 5k

12400 S  1000 W Riverton

Go to 1300 West then to 12400 South turn east go to 1000 West.
You will end up in the parking lot of the park.  If you end up in the Rotary Park just walk across the bridge just west of that park.  They are almost connected.  

Online registration is open until Sept. 16th online registration HERE

8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Registration at the park starts

10:00 a.m. 5k starts

Kids 1 mile starts shortly after

11:00 to 1:00 Lunch will be served and is included with registration

Raffles will be going on and Gamin' Ride trailer will be open just after the race for the day.

Please join us on September 18th for Sjon's birthday!  We decided this is a perfect day for a benefit 5k walk, run, crawl or cheer as well as a kid's 1 mile walk/run.

This event is open to anyone and the cost is:

• 5k run, walk, crawl or cheer is $25 and includes an I am That I am! bracelet, lunch and drawing ticket for gym membership to Snap Fitness.
• Kids 1 mile is $10 and also includes a bracelet, lunch and a drawing ticket for the Gamin' Ride party.
• Registration is open online for credit cards now to September 16th and will be open at 8:30 a.m. at the park on Sept. 18th we will not be able to accept credit cards at the park sorry.
• To purchase lunch without the 5k or kids registration is $6 per person.
• We will have raffle tickets available to tow beautiful quilts to be given away in December.
• There will be two giveaways the day of the 5k thanks to the wonderful people at Snap Fitness and Gamin' Ride.  A Gym Membership and a Gamin' Ride Party will be given away! 
• You may also purchase additional tickets for the giveaways.

I just want to take a moment to thank all of my great friends and family for showing up in the biggest way to support my healing! I'm doing amazing and the yard sale last weekend was a complete success!! I love you all soooo much, you truly are angels in my life and with this support there is nothing we can't acomplish in this life so bring it on!!!!! ;-)

Lump in Jaw removal update

On tuesday Sjon had a lymph node in his jaw removed.  The good news is that the doctor removed 20 lymph glands and the only one that was positive for cancer was the one that they went in for in the first place. Very good news!  He has a drain tube in his jaw, has a pretty sore throat and it hurts to talk but he is doing well. 
Right now he is focusing on resting and healing over the next two weeks so they can do an MRI and talk about the rest of his treatments.  His body has been through alot the last 7 weeks, 6 surgeries, wow.  The rest is much needed and if you see him out running around send him home immediately!  Just kidding, what type of Sjon update would this be without a little ha ha in it 'wink'.
Sjon and Angie want to thank everyone for their love and support.  They feel truly blessed to have all of you in their lives.

Saturday's yard sale was amazing! We are overwhelmed at the love and support that has been shown to Sjon and his family as well as the extended family. It is just AMAZING! So many of you donated items to make the yard sale bake sale a huge success. When we say success we mean it on every level possible. Your kindness brought family and friends together. It helped people who have cancer share their stories when they stopped by. It made so many people smile and many hugs were given. THANK YOU!

Spleen removed and update

Healing after Spleen removal

Yesterday Sjon had surgery to have his spleen removed.  We just talked to him and he is doing really well.  He said he is in a little pain and is tired but is doing great. 
Since he is a Lavery and he said he is magic, he has to gone above and beyond.  He actually grew an extra spleen!  Apparently when they went in to do the surgery the doctor said he had two.  So they removed the sick one and left the new little one in place.  This is something that is odd but happens so no worries when you are magic.
They took a look at his stomach and everything else looked good.
Yesterday he also had a biopsy on a lump that is on his jaw and the results came back positive so next week they will do 1 more surgery to remove it and then the surgeries should be done. 
Right now he has to stay off of his foot for about 2 more weeks, recover from this surgery and then he will be seeing the Dr. to get the go ahead to start treatments of Interferon. 
We were talking about how it seems like this has been going on forever but the truth is his first surgery was just 6 weeks ago.  Pretty amazing if you think about all they have done in just 6 weeks.  The doctors are hitting this very hard and Sjon's body is doing amazing though everything.

Hey everyone! This saturday is the yard sale fundraiser for Sjon. We have so much stuff donated for the yard sale IT IS AWESOME!

I Am That I Am...

I am all that is, and we are all part of everything that is. When we get in touch with "that" I know we are all one. When I look at the sky, sun, moon, mountains, trees, my neighbor and my children I truly feel that... I. Am. That. I. Am. In the most accountable way.

So we thought hmm... we should use this idea to share Sjon's message and help raise a little money.

Message From Sjon Heaven On Earth

Hey you beautiful angels!


I just felt inspired to share something I've been getting in touch with these last few days. I have had the most amazing journey through the years and now I've upped the annie a few notches and with the assistance of friends and family I am exited to get the ball rolling.
Anyways back to what I'm getting in touch with is a comment that I have made the last 7-8 years and that is

"BAG WAITING TO GO TO HEAVEN I'M CREATING HEAVEN ON EARTH ONE SOUL AT A TIME"

Now I truly get the meaning of that comment because as I am going through this I am witnessing so many people showing up in such a big way and tapping into their spirit being, rather than just human being.  Not just for me but for each other and connecting people to other people. It's such a beautiful thing to witness. Now I'm getting the awesome experience to see what it's like to have heaven on earth, it is spirit to spirit heart to heart, touching the lives of those close to us and others around the world.
We all deserve to experience heaven on earth and what that's like.  For those who have been assisting me in this journey I feel if you stop take a breath in, and take a moment to experience your heaven on earth you will feel what I've felt if you haven't already.
So if this is what one man and his family can do imagine what many family's can do to create our heaven on earth because life was never meant to be hard or difficult.  It is meant to be joyous and abundant for all, so if we choose to do life from the space of our spirit beings rather than human beings imagine what this world would be like!!!

Today was a check up to see how the skin graft is doing and things are lookin good!

Surgery Update from Sjon

My update surgeries complete on my foot and hip also gama knife radiation on the brain, skin graph done on foot. Next week we find out if the spleen is ready to come out. Then I get to start the good stuff. Interferon, Radiation and Chemo but I am doing freaking amazing I feal great I look great and I have an amazing fam and friends!!

August 11, 2010

Sjon had his surgery yesterday for his skin graft on the bottom of his foot. It went good. Friday he has a CT scan for his spleen to see when that can be taken out. We also have moved in between all of this. Thank you again to everyone for all the love, prayers, and support. We love you all.

The name Army For Sjon

We wanted to share why we chose the name Army For Sjon.  When this all first started Sjon shared his thoughts on having cancer and he said the following:

"I picture myself walking along just fine on my journey in life. Everything is perfect and normal, then all of a sudden blocking my path is this huge demon. I am looking at the demon thinking wow I am going to have to fight this and knowing that there will be times that I have to let go. Then I look to my left and right and I see an army of family and friends helping me fight this demon. I know that the times I am to weak to fight myself that I have all of these people who will step in for me and carry me through."

He was right we are all here for him to carry him through when needed and help him fight this demon.  Thank you for being a part of his army.
